What does a treatment entail?
A topical anaesthetic will be applied to your decolletage area and left on for 20-40 minutes. A few small tubes of blood are taken from your arm and placed into a centrifuser which spins it down, separating the red blood cells from your plasma. This plasma is rich in stem cells and platelet-derived growth factors which help to stimulate maximal collagen production. The anaesthetic will be removed and the area cleansed. We use your plasma as an injectable “filler”, injecting it into breast tissue to help stimulate collagen formation and restore lost volume. We then use a Dermapen 4® to needle in the remaining PRP into the decolletage skin. This combination of skin needling (collagen induction therapy) and PRP-derived growth factors and stem cells helps to rejuvenate the decolletage skin. Any remaining PRP is then massaged into the skin.
Is there pain and downtime?
As with any injection, there is a small amount of discomfort and bruising may occur. Discomfort is minimalised with the use of a topical anaesthetic beforehand. Afterwards, the injected areas are likely to be slightly red and tender for a few hours due to the resulting increase in blood flow and stimulation of active rejuvenation processes taking place. Bruising, if it occurs, will disappear in a few days.
What do I need to do afterwards?
There is no specific aftercare required. Please try not to wash the area for a few hours afterwards and avoid taking anti-inflammatories for a few days as these may hinder the rejuvenation process.
When can I expect to see results?
Most people see results within a few weeks after treatment which can improve for up to three months.
How many treatments do I need and how often?
We recommend at least 3 treatments at 1 monthly intervals for optimal results.
Can other areas be treated?
A PRP lift and PRP skin rejuvenation can be done on almost any area of the body where collagen stimulation is required. We often treat faces, necks, decolletages, abdomens, arms, and the genital region in a similar way.
